Reflective Practice Collaborative:
A Learning Community for Mental Health Professionals

​We're excited to launch our first Reflective Practice Collaborative cohort this fall! This 8-month learning community is  designed to support mental health professionals as they deepen their self-awareness, strengthen their professional resilience, and build a sustainable practice through guided reflection and case consultation.

 

October 2026 - May 2027 | 8-10 Participants | 10 DC CEUs and 8 DC Supervision Hours

Program Details

Participants in the Reflective Practice Collaborative will meet once a month between October 2026 through May 2027. The program is designed for mental health professionals across disciplines and settings — clinicians, case managers, outreach workers, and other professionals are all welcome.

SCHEDULE

  • 8 monthly sessions, 2.5 hours each (20 hours total)

  • ​Sessions will be offered in-person (and occasionally online), with scheduling built around participant availability

SESSION FOCUS AREAS

  • Building a Safe Space for Reflection and Growth 

    • Creating a foundation of trust, curiosity, and psychological safety for meaningful reflection and shared learning

  • The Self in the Work

    • Exploring the strengths, values, and experiences that shape our professional identity and team presence

  • Nervous System, Emotional Activation, and Attachment

    • Understanding the interplay of stress, attachment, and emotional activation in our work    

  • Trauma-Informed Care - Micro, Mezzo, and Macro

    • Applying a trauma-informed lens to individual interactions, team dynamics, and                                       organizational systems

  • Professional Sustainability - Relief and Renewal

    • Relieving stress and overwhelm and renewing our commitment to the values that sustain us

  • Power, Identity, and Culture

    • Examining how identity, culture, and power shape our experiences and interactions in the workplace

  • Boundaries, Perfectionism, and Clinical Presence

    • ​Recognizing patterns of over-responsibility and cultivating healthy expectations of ourselves and others

  • Integration and Closing Sand Tray Experience 

    • Celebrating growth, integrating key insights, and reflecting on the journey through a shared sand tray experience.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Improved consistency, responsiveness, and follow-through in youth service delivery

  • Enhanced de-escalation and co-regulation skills in real-time interactions with clients

  • Increased reflective capacity in clinical decision-making 

  • Improved ability to recognize vicarious trauma and activation    

  • Stronger team cohesion and communication   

  • Improved boundaries and role clarity 

  • Deeper understanding of emotional and relational dynamics impacting client care

CONTINUING EDUCATION Credits

  • 10 DC Board of Social Work CEUs

  • 8 DC Board of Social Work supervision hours

PRICE

  • $950 per participant for the full program
